Located at the intersection of Yunnan, Sichuan, and Tibet, Shangri-La City sits in the hinterland of the World Natural Heritage of the "Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas" and the crossroads on the Tea Horse Road. It has an average altitude of 3,459 meters, and an absolute altitude drop of 5,200 meters between the highest summit and lowest valley. It has been hailed as the "Kingdom of Animals and Plants", the "Natural Alpine Biological Park", and the "Mother of World Gardens", while it boasts two world-class brands of the "Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas" and "Shangri-La". Its landscape integrates snowy mountains, grasslands, alps, lakes, and primitive forests, where multi-ethnic groups live. This is a unique wonderland combining landscape resources, natural resources, and cultural resources. In 2021, Shangri-La City was listed as a national-level key county receiving paired-up assistance in the Rural Revitalization Plan.

Since it implemented paired-up assistance in Shangri-La City, China Tourism Group has made every effort to support the development of various economic and social undertakings of Shangri-La City and actively fulfilled its corporate social responsibilities by giving full play to its advantages and fully implementing various assistance projects. In 2022, CTG International, a subsidiary of China Tourism Group, undertook the task on behalf of the Group. While firmly practicing its corporate political and social responsibilities and continuously investing assistance funds in Shangri-La City, CTG International also gives full play to its professional advantages to integrate the tourism resources of Shangri-La region and actively contribute to the local development as a central enterprise. The efforts focus on four major aspects, that are "One County and One Village" beautiful countryside demonstration projects, distinctive industrial assistance, education assistance, and livelihood improvement projects.

The "14th Five-year Plan" is a crucial period for building a modern socialist country in an all-around way after achieving the goal of completing the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects. It is also a transitional period for effectively connecting poverty alleviation with rural revitalization and achieving a smooth transition. CTG International will continuously give full play to the advantages of the Group in tourism to constantly improve the assistance system and mechanism for rural revitalization. Specifically, it has further pushed forward the "One County and One Village" beautiful countryside projects to help the integrated development of the Shangri-La cultural and tourism industry and forged the brand of "Shangri-La of the World" by closely centering on the ideas of "Utilizing the advantages of its main businesses, being led by the cultural tourism, co-constructing the enterprise and local area innovation, relying on the guidance of distinctive industries, driving issues relating to agriculture, rural areas, and farmers with tourism industry, prioritizing ecological environment, and making sharing, co-building, and common prosperity". Meanwhile, it will facilitate the modernization of agriculture and rural areas and consolidate the achievements in poverty alleviation to make new progress in comprehensively promoting rural revitalization.
