In a significant move towards fostering tourism and economic development, Chairman Chen Yin and General Manager Wang Haimin of China Tourism Group (CTG) met with Chongqing's top officials, including CPC Secretary Yuan Jiajun and Mayor Hu Henghua on January 10th. The prestigious gathering visited projects such as Chongqing Amusement Park, and witnessed the signing of an agreement between CTG INTERNATIONAL and Chongqing Tourism Investment Group.
Under the agreement, the joint venture between CTG INTERNATIONAL and Chongqing Tourism Investment Group will serve as CTG INTERNATIONAL's Southwest Regional Headquarters. This partnership will adopt a "platform + project" model to advance the high-standard planning and construction of the Chongqing Amusement Park project, aiming to create a new cultural, tourism, and commercial landmark in Chongqing. Additionally, the joint venture will oversee the comprehensive planning and operation of the Tongjing Hot Springs 4A Scenic Area, striving to elevate it to a 5A Scenic Area and a national-level tourist resort through upgrades and the development of new products and formats. Leveraging Chongqing's distinctive mountainous landscapes, the majestic Three Gorges, and the charm of Wuling, the venture will develop three main brand product lines for the metropolitan area, the northeast, and the southeast of Chongqing, promoting the overall growth of Chongqing's tourism industry.
Since the strategic cooperation agreement between the Chongqing Municipal Government and China Tourism Group was signed in January 2023, Chongqing Tourism Investment Group and China Tourism Group teams have enhanced communication and collaboration to deepen the agreement's implementation and strengthen the creation of landmark outcomes of central-local strategic cooperation. They have reached a high level of consensus on comprehensive, in-depth investment and operational cooperation projects.
Currently, Chongqing is actively promoting the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, striving to become an internationally renowned tourist destination, and cultivating an international consumption center city. With its prominent location, superior resources, strong development atmosphere, and favorable policies, the potential for cooperation between both parties is immense. The signing of the project cooperation agreement will serve as a catalyst for further comprehensive exchanges and multi-level cooperation, swiftly driving project implementation and effectiveness. Major projects and significant reforms will be advanced to achieve breakthroughs, fully supporting the "three battles and one activation" reform efforts.
